We are thrilled to announce that ColdSpark® has been selected as one of the finalists in the EBA Inspiration Challenge at the European Biogas Conference 2024. This exciting opportunity highlights ColdSpark®’s pioneering work in the field of sustainable energy.
The EBA Inspiration Challenge recognises projects and companies that drive innovation and sustainability within the biogas industry. As one of the six finalists, ColdSpark® will present its innovative approach to a live audience and expert panel in Brussels on October 24, 2024. This recognition positions the project at the forefront of the biogas industry, where we aim to make a lasting impact on the future of clean energy production and recognises the efforts of the all consortium partners.
The cold methane pyrolysis process technology developed within the project produces low-carbon hydrogen and high-purity carbon from methane with extremely low level of CO2 emissions inherited from the production of the energy used for the process.
The ColdSpark® technology is not only a clean path towards sustainable hydrogen production but also plays a crucial role in promoting a circular economy through the utilisation of high-purity carbon for a range of industries, including batteries, paints, soil fertilisers, etc.
The next step in the project’s development are the upcoming upscaling efforts in Sweden’s Siljan Ring. This phase of the ColdSpark® technology development and exploitation will further exemplify in practice the potential of the cold methane pyrolysis to revolutionise the energy landscape in Europe and beyond.
