On October 22, ColdSpark® participated in the H2Asia Conference 2024, an influential event in Asia’s rapidly growing hydrogen economy. The conference, themed “Hydrogen Horizons: Engineering Excellence and Project Synergy for a Sustainable Future,” gathered innovators, industry leaders, and policymakers to explore advancements driving the future of sustainable hydrogen.

ColdSpark®’s cold methane pyrolysis technology was presented online by Terje Hauan, Chief Technology Officer at SEID AS and ColdSpark® Project Coordinator, during the Session 3: Methane Pyrolysis, which focused on cutting-edge hydrogen production techniques.

Terje demonstrated how ColdSpark®’s technology transforms methane into low-carbon hydrogen and high-purity elemental carbon, both of which are essential for a sustainable energy future.

He highlighted unlike conventional methods, ColdSpark®’s approach produces hydrogen without CO₂ emissions, offering a breakthrough solution for decarbonisation. With its modular, containerised design, ColdSpark®’s system is adaptable to various industrial applications. By eliminating CO₂ emissions in hydrogen production, ColdSpark® is a recognisable game-changer in the hydrogen industry and a key enabler of the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.

ColdSpark®’s participation at H2Asia reaffirmed the strong international interest in the cold methane cracking technology developed under the project. This enthusiasm is well-founded, as ColdSpark® provides a practical and economically viable solution for producing hydrogen and high-value carbon materials, meeting industry’s growing demand for sustainable alternatives.
