ColdSpark® Final Event & Demonstration Sustainable Hydrogen and eCarbon® Production through Cold Methane Splitting Plasma Innovation
The ColdSpark® Final Event marks the completion of the project’s journey to advance plasma-based methane conversion as a new pathway for producing clean hydrogen and high-value eCarbon®, with no direct CO₂ emissions.
This event, jointly organized by SEID AS, the University of Stavanger (UiS), and Europroject (EP), will serve as a dynamic platform for dialogue between research, industry, and policymakers. It will showcase how innovative plasma-based solutions—such as ColdSpark®—can advance Europe’s transition toward a climate-neutral and resource-resilient future. Bringing together project partners, researchers, industrial stakeholders, and decision-makers, the event will present the project’s key results and explore future opportunities for sustainable hydrogen and carbon materials within Europe’s clean energy landscape.
The programme will feature presentations from consortium partners and guest speakers, highlighting ColdSpark®’s technological progress and its contribution to EU’s goals for strategic value chains and the Critical Raw Materials Act. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend a live demonstration of the ColdSpark® reactor, witnessing the technology in action, and to join a networking session with poster presentations to exchange insights and explore new collaboration pathways.
While this event marks the conclusion of the ColdSpark® project, it also represents the first step in a longer journey. The consortium remains committed to bringing this innovative technology to the market, enabling wider adoption of plasma-based methane splitting for sustainable hydrogen and eCarbon® production in the years ahead.

The event will be held in person in Stavanger, Norway. The main presentations and poster sessions will take place at the University of Stavanger (UiS), Kjølv Egelands hus, Kristine Bonnevies veg 22, 4021 Stavanger, E-102 Auditorium Тhe live demonstration of the ColdSpark® reactor will be hosted at SEID’s Plasma Test Centre at Bedriftsveien 25, 4313, Stavanger. Transport between the venues will be organised for participants who indicate this preference in the registration form. Detailed logistical information will be shared with all registered participants via email shortly before the event.
